Aussie four-piece Aplonea are the grand prize winners of the EA Amplify Artist Search – a music search for the hottest emerging new artist talents in the Asia Pacific region.

Open to residents of Australia and New Zealand, the competition – hosted in collaboration with partners EMI, Gibson, Xbox®, and Motorola - garnered hundreds of entries from fresh talent across the region.

Aplonea’s winning track, ‘To Love Again’ wowed the judges with its heavy riff laden sound and driving energy.

Hailing from Sydney, Aplonea wins the chance to have their winning track featured for worldwide release in an EA game – and they’ve also scored a recording deal with EMI!

“It’s a massive thrill to win this competition, we’re pumped about getting into the studio and recording our song for everyone to hear!” said Aplonea front-man Andrew Eddy.

The Artist Search - part of the EA Amplify program – is designed to give bands a chance to win a unique music industry opportunity and is judged by a panel made up of music specialists from EA and competition partners. EA Amplify is an online hub; created by EA for aspiring artists and unsigned bands from across the Asia Pacific region, giving new talents the chance to profile themselves and showcase their music.
